Hopefully, you have something in your life that you are truly passionate about.
My name is Lenny Hall, and I am the president of Lions Camp Pride. Lions Camp pride is owned by the Lions Clubs of District 44H of New Hampshire, and it is my passion!
This overnight summer camp for kids and young adults with special needs is located on 390 acres on the shores of Merrymeeting Lake in New Durham NH. The property has 8 bunkhouses (20 kids and 4 staff each), an Arts and Crafts building, a Medical center, a staff building, a large one on one special care building, a Dining Hall (seats about 150) a Chapel, 3- Adirondack shelters for tenting, and an Administration building. All handicapped accessible. We also have 2 beach/swim areas, one in deep water and one in shallow water.
The camp offers swimming, canoeing, low ropes course, archery range, gaga pit, volleyball, arts and crafts, and hiking. Like Camp Granada in the old song, the only problem we have is when it rains play time doesn’t have a place to go.
My hope is to build a new Pavilion. A 60 x 100 building with attached bathrooms, wide open floor plan to accommodate indoor rainy-day activities like basketball, volleyball, shuffleboard, and indoor meetings. The new Pavilion would have large barn doors on the front to provide great ventilation when needed.
